The City of Temple City, Temple City Unified School District, and the Historical Society of Temple City cordially invite you to celebrate our town's 100th (Centennial) founding year in a day filled with fun, activities, performances, and lots of Camellia pride!

Guest Speaker Series
Discover the history behind our town at our guest speaker series. These presentations will take place inside Council Chambers, 5940 Kauffman Avenue.
Time | Event |
10:30 a.m. & 2:30 p.m. | The Workman and Temple Family in Greater Los Angeles—this presentation discusses the period from 1830 to 1930 and focuses several members of the extended family in business, politics, social causes and the film industry, among others. |
11:30 a.m. & 3:30 p.m. | Temple City’s Founder: Walter P. Temple—this talk covers Temple’s nearly seventy-year life story, including the remarkable stroke of luck that brought his family a small fortune and his many projects, leading up to the founding of Temple City. |
12:30 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. | Before Temple City: Rancho San Francisquito to Sunny Slope Acres—this presentation looks at the area that became Temple City, including a Mexican-era rancho and a townsite that never got past the planning stages. |
1:30 p.m. & 5:30 p.m. | Temple City’s Early History, 1923-1930—this talk discusses Walter Temple buying 285 acres formerly owned by his father, F.P.F. Temple and grandfather William Workman, and, with a few partners, launching the Town of Temple, but challenges quickly ensued by the start of the Great Depression. |

Award Categories: Best in Show, Community Choice, Best Interior, and much more!

STREET CLOSURES: Las Tunas Dr. between Kauffman Ave. and Golden West Ave. will be closed from
5:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
PARKING RESTRICTIONS: Parking will be prohibited on the following streets:
Golden West Ave., West Curb between Las Tunas Dr. and the Library Driveway from
5:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Kauffman Ave., East and West Curb between Las Tunas Dr. and Woodruff Ave. from
5:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Parade
STREET CLOSURES: Las Tunas Dr. between Encinita Ave. and Kauffman Ave. will be closed from 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Temple City Blvd. between Live Oak Ave. and Woodruff Ave. will be closed from
6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Kauffman Ave. between Las Tunas Dr. and Woodruff Ave. will be closed from 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

No street sweeping schedules will be affected.
