Trash Collection Services
The City provides
residential and commercial refuse collection through a contract
with Athens Services, which is a private company serving many
communities throughout the greater Los Angeles County area.
Residents of the City of Temple City
have their trash collected twice a week. Large bulky
items, such as furniture, refrigerators, washing machines,
clothes dryers and other items can be placed at the curb for
disposal on the first scheduled pick-up day of the week.
Yard waste (grass clippings, leaves
and tree clippings) may be placed, in designated trash barrels,
at the curb for disposal on both trash pick up days.
To designate a trash barrel for yard waste only, a "Yard Waste"
sticker must be placed to the barrel.
Household hazardous waste and
electronic waste (E-Waste) may not be disposed of with your
regular trash. They must be taken to a household hazardous
waste collection event. Additional information regarding
household hazardous waste is available from the Los Angeles
County Department of Public Works.
Residents may place trash containers
and other items curbside from 12:00pm the day before collection.
All containers must be removed no later than 12:00pm on the day
immediately following collection.
The City expects that residents will
receive the best level of service possible and encourages
citizens to report any problems.
Additional information regarding
trash collection and disposal services may be obtained by
calling Athens Services or contacting the City's Public Works
Division, located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue (626) 285-2171.
